Every picture tells a story...

Why do we take photos? Why do we post them on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook? (Yes, photos are still being posted on Facebook) Why do we meticulously edit the picture and create the best caption possible to describe what we are showing the world? It's simple. We are telling a story. We are putting our best foot forward, creating our brand and marketing ourselves to the world. We are telling a story like the story being told above. As you may have guessed it was the day I proposed to my wife...on top of Half Dome in Yosemite.

Like the moment portrayed above, we allow people a glimpse into our life, at least into the life we want people to see. Our phones allow us to broadcast our story instantaneously and we tell that story whether we have ten or ten thousand listening. It's our chance to be heard, to have a voice and to make a mark like the billions of people who have gone before us.

And that's what it comes down to...people. The human connection that drives us forward is the story that will never die, never grow old and never fade. We innovate, create, adapt and overcome...and we do that together.

The connection between people is what drives me. But let's be honest, it's not about me...it's about you. Life is moving 100 mph and maybe, just maybe, we can pause long enough to look around, enjoy where we are right now and not let the moment pass.

In my mind there are a few details about my wedding day that stand out: how stunning my wife looked in her wedding dress, the song our friend Carly wrote to surprise my wife and how quickly that day came and went. How do I remember the rest? The pictures we have tell hundreds upon hundreds of stories that happened that day and they show us the many layers woven into that day that we barely scratched the surface of.

When you look back on your life, what moments will tell your story? How will you remember them? My guess is you don't want to live life behind a screen, hoping to capture moments through your phone. My guess is that you want to be present, to experience all that you can.

My hope is that I can tell your story and tell it in a way that you will be proud to show your family and friends for years to come. I look forward to what the present and the future hold for you!
